What is ‘Her Ffilm Fer?’

This is the third HFF challenge from Hansh/S4C - an exciting opportunity for you to show off your filmmaking skills and get noticed by the channel.

You have 48 hours to create an original short film, within a specific genre, which is 'thriller' and then a twist will be revealed at the beginning of the challenge.

Some of Wales' leading experts are judging and the films will also be shown on Hansh's Youtube platform following the competition.

As you wait for the big weekend there will be masterclass sessions run by several well-known names in the field offering valuable advice and handy tips on competing!

IMPORTANT DATES

The 48-hour challenge will start at 19:00 on the 15th of October.

You must be registered to take part before the competition starts.

There will be live sessions at 10:00 on Saturday 16/10/21
and at 10:00 on Sunday 17/10/21.

The competition will close at 19:00 on Sunday 17th of October.

All the videos will go live on Monday morning, 18th of October, where the general public can vote for their favourite films.

Then join us for the LIVE results - 19:00, Thursday 28th of October.

THE PRIZE

The winning film will receive a cash prize of £1,000 and the title of winner / winners of Her Ffilm Fer 3!

But all competitors, of course, get this amazing opportunity to learn from the best and get valuable feedback on their work.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

• You must be 18 or over to enter.

• Registration is required before 19:00 Friday 03/09/21.

• If you want to use language within your film, it needs to be mainly in Welsh.

• The video can be no longer than 5'00".

• You need to keep to the constraints of the Welsh Government's Covid-19 guidelines when filming.

• You are welcome to compete as an individual or as a group

PRESENTING THE CHALLENGE

Mali Ann Rees will be leading us as we prepare for the Short Film Challenge and during the big weekend itself.

Mali is an Actress and writer, trained at East 15 Acting School. She debuted her acting career as Ffion in Severn Screens BBC/S4C Crime Drama 'Hidden/ Craith' and since has worked on numerous television and theatre productions.

MEET THE JUDGES

With the task of selecting the best short film and providing invaluable advice to all competitors our judging panel:

Gwyneth Keyworth - An actress, known for Misfits, Hidden and Doctor Thorne.

Eilir Pierce - Directing for over 20-years and is currently directing and producing a groundbreaking new youth drama for S4C called Persona.

Gwenllian Gravelle - Drama Commissioner for S4C and the Producer of 'Un Bore Mercher'.
